weekly notes 003
updates
- yesterday i was on a day-trip to turku with a good friend of mine. it's a tradition we started back in summer 2021 when, newly vaccinated after more than a year cooped up alone in our respective homes, we decided we needed to get out of helsinki just for a bit. we've done it every year since, and this was our second try with turku (it rained buckets the whole time we were there in 2022, so we only got to see an art exhibition and the pharmacy museum). this year we saw the turku cathedral and castle. both host very cool museums, unfortunately i was too tired towards the end of the castle visit to focus on everything i wanted to. we might go to turku again though. there are other museums and finland's a big country, so in a couple of years we'll run out of places that are close enough for a day trip.
- wrote a bit about my relationship with boredom and an experiment i'm doing this week to try and deal with all the over-stimulation i've been experiencing lately.
- finished another capybara plushie. i have two working modes and they are 'not touching a crochet hook for 6 months' and '4 completed projects in less than a week'.
plans
- finish editing my website for the end of small web july. i didn't have it in me to code anything from scratch, so i went with a template with roughly the structure i had in mind, and will edit from there. i have some additional ideas to the ones i outlined a couple of weeks ago, including some future experiments inspired by the boredom one.
- watch the matrix 4. a little bit nuts that i haven't seen it yet.
media
- revisited my synthpop playlist from 2022, and by 'revisited' i mean i had it on repeat for most of this week
- way too much youtube, which i'll have to address sooner than later if i'm having this much trouble with over-stimulation. think doomscrolling, but it's doom-too many hour-long video essays on ai slop ruining the internet.
